Exposure Limits

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has established a permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 5 ppm as an 8-hour TWA for sulfur dioxide (refer to 29) Code of Federal Regulations Part 1910.1000, Subpart Z, Table Z-l. The American Conference of Governmental In­dustrial Hygienists (ACGIH) recommends 2 ppm as an eight-hour TWA Threshold Limit Value (TLV)® and 5 ppm as a STEL averaged over 15 minutes for sulfur dioxide."'"
